Transponders (transmission and response) can read and store data without touch or any contact. They are made up of a microchip, an aerial and a carrier material. Active transponders contain, in addition, a battery.
A passive transponder, without own energy source covers its energy from the received radio waves. It contains an identification number that it reveals as soon as it is stimulated by an electromagnetic field (radio waves) on up to 1.50 m distance. In a printed card the transponder can be hidden in such a way that it is not visible from the outside. The advantage lies in the nonwearing and maintenace-free use of the card and the area of admission control as a badge. The transponder card can be used to different applications at the same time.
